WEIGHT WATCHERS AT WORK

Eat the Foods YOU Like and Still Lose Weight!

The DEMA Weight Watchers at Work program is ongoing, as long as at least 18 people sign up for the first session.

Last year DEMA Weight Watchers lost over 200 pounds! We can do it again with your support. Did you know studies show that people who lose weight with the support of others have a greater success rate than those who go it alone? Let's go it together!

The Weight Watchers class is offered from 11:00-12:00, 11:30-12:30 or from 12:00-1:00 on Monday through Friday, depending on a group consensus of meeting time and date. Feel free to bring your lunch to class. This program is being made available to all DEMA employees regardless of status.

Weight Watchers At Work (10 - 1 hour sessions): The rates listed below apply for State of Arizona "at work" groups from July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005. The fee includes materials.

Weeks 1-10 = $59 copay
Weeks 11-20 = $59 copay
Weeks 21+ = $59 copay

Spouses and dependents are welcome to attend Weight Watchers classes at a copay of $90 per ten-week session, plus a $10 charge for materials at the first session they attend.

If you, your spouse or dependents are interested in joining our DEMA Weight Watchers Program to help take off those annoying extra pounds or to learn more about eating healthy foods and about keeping off the extra weight, please contact Nichole Fortson in the State Personnel Office at: 602-267-2807 or email nichole.fortson@azdema.gov. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Chances are that you or someone you know will be, or has been, touched by breast cancer. In order to help make this disease a thing of the past, each year in October and November, DEMA participates in the Making Strides for Breast Cancer campaign. During the 2002 campaign DEMA collected over $800. With your help and support we can make the 2004 campaign even more successful!

There are several ways you can help show your support during the campaign:

  • Walk with TEAM DEMA on the day of the event
  • Donate money (any amount). Donations are tax deductible and may be made in cash or check (make checks payable to the American Cancer Society).
  • Pick up a pledge card from the DEMA State Personnel Office, or from any breast cancer representative, and collect pledges from family, friends, coworkers, and others. Bring the pledge cards and collected money to the registration booth on the day of the event.
  • Purchase a Making Strides Against Breast Cancer t-shirt. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. Stop by the DEMA State Personnel Office anytime to view t-shirts from previous campaigns or during the campaign to purchase a t-shirt. Top
