Recently, the Purchasing and Contracting Office of the State of Arizona, Department of Emergency and Military Affairs received two awards: the annual “Achievement of Excellence in Procurement” and the “Outstanding Agency Accreditation Achievement Award”. The Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award was designed to recognize organizational excellence in public procurement and is earned by those organizations that clearly demonstrate this. The program is designed to measure innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity, and leadership. The Outstanding Agency Accreditation Achievement Award is a National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP) accreditation award designed to formally recognize public agencies excellence in public purchasing. The designation is given to public agencies that lead the procurement profession.

To procure commodities, services, construction, maintenance and repair services at the right quality, quantity, price, and time in support of the Department of Emergency and Military Affairs and its satellite activities.
